Israel gives up white phosphorus, because ‘it doesn’t photograph well’ = Jewish Arrogance Again?

A certain air of nostalgia dominated Maarivs headline last Thursday: “Due to criticism in the world, IDF parts ways with white phosphorus”: just like the old Galil assault rifle and the old two-way radios that generations of soldiers grew familiar with. A couple of years ago we learned the IDF was giving up its cans of preserved meat (the kosher version of SPAM). Now, it’s white phosphorus that we say goodbye to.

[Twilight. The IDF and white phosphorus exchange a final gaze. A sad violin tune is heard. Curtain down.]

So the IDF is looking for a replacement for the white phosphorus bombs. A senior officer in the ground forces explained: “As we learned during Cast Lead, it [white phosphorus] doesn’t photograph well, so we are reducing the supply and we will not purchase beyond what we already have.”

“It doesn’t photograph well.” In all honesty, the man is right.

This item caught me by surprise. The IDF is giving up white phosphorus? Wait a minute; the IDF never used white phosphorus during Cast Lead. So how exactly do you give up something you never had? Chemical weapons are something the Syrians use, no?

Okay, after a while the army did remember that it had been confused, and it did use white phosphorus, but only in open territories and not against people.

Okay, then the IDF remembered that it got it wrong again and that it did use white phosphorus in urban areas. Two hundred bombs, actually. But this was only in order to create a “smoke screen,” and there is nothing wrong with that. And if there was something wrong, it’s insignificant and unintentional, and it would be thoroughly investigated, so that no stone is left unturned.

The Cancer Industry EXPOSED! Ways to Prevent and CURE Cancer – such as EATING CANNABIS OIL (Videos)

It turns out, THC when ingested in highly concentrated forms (such as EATING CANNABIS OIL) will attack any mutated cells in your body while strengthening and rejuvenating the healthy cells.

The PERFECT Cure for Cancer: it works fast, it works well, it works on many different forms of Cancer in ALL stages and it has ZERO harmful side effects. (Unlike Chemo which deteriorates your entire body and kills 1 in 5 patients). Not only that, but it dissolves ALL forms of tumors and can even combat superbugs like MRSA.

Intelligent people realize that the scientific method does not work by *disproving* information or people. Cannabinoids are listed on the National Cancer Institute website and once you see how fast the cure works, the cognitive dissonance wears off pretty quickly. One needs to remember that *ignore* is the root word of “ignorance”…

China -Tabbed for Organ Harvesting; Falun Gong practitioners disappear from Masanjia Women’s Forced Labor Camp without a trace.

Sometimes practitioners of Falun Gong would disappear from Masanjia Women’s Forced Labor Camp without a trace. Their clothes and other belongings would remain behind, but the practitioners could not be found.

Only later did Ms. Xie (full name withheld to protect her identity) come to understand the significance of those disappearances. (Ms. Xie’s experience at Masanjia is told at greater length in “Woman Recounts Torture in Most Notorious Labor Camp in China” )

Xie endured 17 months in Masanjia. Upon being admitted to the camp in November 2005 she was given an extensive—and costly—medical exam. At the time she was told that if the camp’s doctors found she were not healthy enough, she would be sent home.

X-rays were taken and an ultrasound was given. Her liver function was tested and urine was collected. Xie says an extra-large syringe was used to draw her blood.

Of course, she was not sent home. At Masanjia, torture has killed and disabled many practitioners. Health is not a concern.

In March 2006, a family came to visit their daughter, a Falun Gong practitioner named Liu Mingwei.

When Liu’s family was refused entry, they began shouting outside the camp that they would expose the gruesome practice of live organ harvesting to the world if prison officials would not let them visit their daughter.

At that moment, Xie recalled how the police had often said to her, “If you don’t give up practicing [Falun Gong], you will be taken to climb up the chimney [the chimney of a crematorium].”

She had thought this was a serious death threat, but she hadn’t known before about the organ harvesting.

Shortly after Xie was released from Masanjia in March 2007 she met with an ex-colleague, Li Shiying. Li told her that his wife just had liver transplant surgery at the 301 Hospital (The General Hospital of the People’s Liberation Army).

China Model Harms The World; Fueled by Bribery and Corruption

China’s “neo-colonialism” became a popular topic again when Chinese Communist Party head Xi Jinping visited Africa in mid-March.

Neo-colonialism roughly means: China, exploiting Africa’s resources while disregarding the environmental impact, has also been dumping cheap industrial products into Africa.

China’s economic development has brought few job opportunities for Africans. What’s worse, China’s policy of “unconditional financial aid” and “not interfering with other countries politics,” has broken Western countries’ pattern of providing aid only when certain political requirements are met. This has loosened the reins on some African dictators.

The reason for the viral growth of China’s neo-colonialism in Africa is that Chinese businessmen have introduced the signature element of the China model—collusion between government and business—to Africa, using bribery in order to gain mining rights and market entry.

Fueled by Bribery and Corruption

Shortly before Xi’s visit to Nigeria, Lamido Sanusi, the country’s central bank governor, criticized China on the U.K.’s Financial Timesfor taking Africa’s primary goods and selling manufactured ones back to Africa, saying China is in Africa not for African interests but its own.

“This was the essence of colonialism,” Sanusi said, adding, “It is a significant contributor to Africa’s de-industrialisation and underdevelopment.”

South African president Jacob Zuma warned in 2012 that the trade pattern between Africa and China is “unsustainable in the long term.”

But such complaints from African governments are rare as benefits to state leaders are often tied to Chinese companies in various ways. Most objections come from grassroots groups.

Anti-corruption organization Transparency International surveyed 3,016 senior business executives from 30 countries on their perceptions of businesses from 28 countries that they had business relationships with.

Based on their ratings on how likely businesses from each country would pay bribes abroad, a Bribe Payers Index (BPI) was calculated for each country to reflect its perceived corruption level. China received the second lowest BPI, indicating the second highest corruption likelihood, after Russia.

The BPI covered 19 sectors, and included countries and regions from all key areas in the world. The 2011 BPI report also suggested that government-controlled high dollar volume industries, including infrastructure, construction, and petroleum and natural gas, are most susceptible to corruption abroad.

The Chinese government has refuted the BPI report, but reality proves that bribery and corruption has been the engine of China’s overseas business expansion.

Between 2008 and 2012, the World Bank’s Sanctions Board put 14 Chinese firms and individuals on its “debarred and cross-debarred list” for fraud and corruption. These firms and individuals were:

China – Top Officials are Implicated in the Atrocity of Organ Harvesting; Police chief’s research exemplifies regime’s guilt!

Bo-Xili-Jan-lijun-Jiang-Zimen-676x450

Before he kicked off the biggest political storm in recent Chinese communist history last February after attempting to defect at a U.S. Consulate in southwestern China, police chief Wang Lijun supervised the cutting of thousands of organs from the bodies of prisoners of conscience—while they were still alive.

Wang was merely a mid-ranking officer in a dark conspiracy that reached to the top of the Chinese Communist Party.

In Jinzhou City in Liaoning Province in northeastern China, Wang Lijun ran a research laboratory in the same building as the security bureau he headed. His research focused on live, human organ extraction and transplantation.

He was working under the watch of Bo Xilai, the recently disgraced official who was head of Liaoning Province when Wang began his research.

The facts about Wang were revealed in 2006 when, three years after becoming director of the public security bureau, he was given an award—but not one for fighting crime. Wang’s team had done pioneering research on how best to transplant organs taken from prisoners—who were possibly still alive when their organs were removed—and surgeons acting at his direction had honed new techniques over “thousands” of on-site trials.

“As we all know, the so-called ‘on the scene research’ is the result of several thousand intensive on-site transplants,” he said in his acceptance speech for the award.

He talked up his research: “For a veteran policeman, to see someone being executed and to see this person’s organs being transplanted to several other persons’ bodies, it was profoundly stirring.”

‘Still Alive’

Researchers of abusive human organ transplantation in China were startled by the revelations.

“The so called ‘research scene’ that Wang Lijun refers to is either an outright execution site with medical vans, or possibly a medical ward, where peoples’ organs are surgically removed,” said Ethan Gutmann, who has published extensively on organ harvesting from Chinese prisoners of conscience.

David Matas, an award-winning Canadian human rights lawyer who co-authored, with former Canadian Secretary of State David Kilgour, the 2006 ground-breaking report “Bloody Harvest”  revised and published as a book in 2009) on organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners, said, “In effect they’re not killing by injection, but paralyzing by injection, and taking the organs out while the body is still alive,” referring to Wang’s operations.

When an organ is removed from a still-live body, it is fresher and rejection rates are lower. “It’s possible to source an organ immediately after the victim is brain dead, but much more complicated,” said Matas.

Most of the organs used in transplant operations in China come from prisoners of conscience. Matas has estimated that of the 10,000 transplantations done on average in recent years in China, – READ MORE HERE: http://www.theepochtimes.com/n3/21776-top-officials-are-implicated-in-the-atrocity-of-organ-harvesting-in-china/

Australia’s CSIRO Creates GMO FrankenFood that may silence human genes, leading to disastrous health consequences; (Video)

Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) has developed a type of genetically modified (GM) wheat that may silence human genes, leading to disastrous health consequences.

Last year, University of Canterbury Professor Jack Heinemann released results from genetic research he conducted on the wheat, which showed with “no doubt” that molecules created in the wheat, which are intended to silence wheat genes to change its carbohydrate content, may match human genes and potentially silence them.

University Professor Judy Carman agreed with Heinemann’s analysis, stating inDigital Journal:1

“If this silences the same gene in us that it silences in the wheat — well, children who are born with this enzyme not working tend to die by the age of about five.”

Over 770 Pages of Potential Genetic Matches

Heinemann reported that his research revealed over 770 pages of potential matches between two GM genes in the wheat and the human genome. Over a dozen matches were “extensive and identical and sufficient to cause silencing in experimental systems,” he said.

Experts warned that eating the wheat could lead to significant changes in the way glucose and carbohydrates are stored in the human body, which could be potentially deadly for children and lead to serious illness in adults.

Since this adverse effect is extremely plausible, long-term studies are needed before the wheat is released into the environment and the human food chain – but a new review states that the risks are still not being adequately assessed.

Japan Times joins the club of Japanese Media Outlets quick to censor any factual comments

Yes, I’m very sad to advise that even the Japan Times have joined “Japanese Heavily Censored Media” club that quickly censors any comments that are truthful but a little embarrassing.

“Japan to ease mad cow curbs on U.S. beef, reduce domestic testing”

http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2013/01/29/national/japan-to-ease-mad-cow-curbs-on-u-s-beef-reduce-domestic-testing/#.UQdRvWfcCSr

A good friend who lives in Japan posted a comment on the above story page that just stated that he would not put any US beef on his family’s dinner plates after finding out that most has a chemical, (Being Ractopamine) that has made countries like China & Russia ban US beef imports –

Within minutes of submitting the story, it was removed, and unlike JapanToday, who removed my similar comments, there’s been no advice, communication that his comment was removed.

I am really learning to understand why some many think that Japan and the people are so “ANAL RETENTIVE” if the Japanese government has got that bigger grip on the big media outlets balls to censor even slightly delicate information!

The amusing thing about this story is that the Japan Times promotes the slogan -

“All The News Without Fear Or Favor”

WHAT A JOKE………

JapanToday News Outlet – Quickly Censors the Truth about US Beef & Ractopamine

JapanToday News quickly censored the following comment because it was “Off Topic” to their news story:

“U.S. welcomes Japan’s easing of restrictions on U.S. beef”

http://www.japantoday.com/category/business/view/japan-eases-restrictions-on-u-s-beef

“I really, really hope that the Japanese are not going to be that stupid and buy US beef – it’s a fact that most has the toxic chemical  Ractopamine which is now banned in 160 countries and that even includes China & Russia . Just Google this very bad chemical.  JA also needs to educate as many residents as possible to protect the local industry.  Also “come on”Japan Today do a story on the well know cover-up!”

The “Moderator” 2nd reply to the question of removal was:

“There is no “well-known” cover-up. Please do not bring your obsessions to the discussion board.”

HOWEVER; They allowed this comment:

HiroicciJAN. 29, 2013 – 09:54AM JST

The world is divided on ractopamine. That could mean two things: 1) it’s not yet scientifically proved to be safe or harmful; 2) an excuse for protectionism.

If the case of 300 people who suffered from food poisoning in Shanghai after eating ractopamine beef is anything to go by, then that chemical should be seen as a suspect for health damage, but the thing is that there haven’t been many other cases reported.

Japan limits the import of beef, when it contains more ractopamine than a certain level. It sounds cautious, but, as long as the chemical’s damage hasn’t been verified, this is still reckless.”

Australia; News Ltd Website – http://www.goldcoast.com.au Censored with bias and / or by the LNP Government?

The News Ltd website  – http://www.goldcoast.com.au did not reveal the whole truth about “GOLD Coast MP Jann Stuckey has lost her ninth staff member in nine months amid allegations of a toxic environment in her office.”

Allegedly there were another 18 staffers that had issues with Jann Stuckey that did not consent to have their names published.

Is that the reason, for News Ltd not to report this? Or is the bias that News Ltd already has for the new conservative Queensland dictatorial government come into play and therefore partly censored the story?

Whatever it is, it’s just another example censorship, in which the media feeds the viewers and readers just what they want us to read and know about – and NOT all the facts!

CIA Operative Takes Responsibility for Algerian Gas Plant Attack – Video

Mokhtar Belmokhtar — said to be the mastermind behind the terrorist attack by the Islamist al-Mulathameen (Masked) Brigade on the In Amenas Gas complex in Algeria — takes credit for the operation.

Belmokhtar was recruited and trained by the CIA in Afghanistan. He was an “Afghan Arab” recruit from North Africa and fought with the CIA and Pakistan ISI (Inter Services Intelligence) Mujahideen that would later splinter into al-Qaeda and the Taliban. Following the deadly Afghan civil war that claimed nearly a half million lives, Belmokhtar returned to Algeria in 1993 and joined the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC).

Chinese-Made Parts Found in North Korean Missile, Report Says = More Proof Chinese Government is Dishonest & Un-Scrupulous!

NK

  • This is more proof that the Chinese Government treats international treaties with total contempt!
  • More Proof that the Chinese Government is dishonest, corrupt, deceitful and has no scruples.
  • No repect towards it’s neighbors like Japan in regards to security.

A South Korean military official said that some of the parts used in North Korea’s successful rocket launch last month appear to have been made in China.

A United Nations Security Council resolution stipulates member countries cannot export missile parts to the isolated communist regime of North Korea.

The military of South Korea has analyzed the debris, which includes a fuel tank, from the rocket launch that fell into the Yellow Sea, a source told Japanese broadcaster NHK. The official did not specify which part came from China, but said there was Chinese writing on it.

The official said that parts appear to have come from four other countries, but did not elaborate. The South Korea-based Yonhap News Agency said that “some European nations” produced the other components.

But it appears that the components do not violate the Missile Technology Control Regime, which was adopted by 34 nations in 1987 to prevent the proliferation of missile and drone technology, because they are non-core parts, the agency reported.

The South Korean defense ministry believes that the North has made a relative advance in its missile technologies after examining the debris, reported Yonhap. It has placed the range of the rocket at around 6,000 miles—on par with a number of other intercontinental ballistic missiles.

“Most of core components used in the long-range missile were…

Chinese mine killing livestock, destroying farm in Tibet – This is disgraceful, but unusal for the Chinese Government

DHARAMSHALA, January 21: A major Chinese mining project in central Tibet has forced the eviction of hundreds of Tibetans from their ancestral lands and caused severe damage to the environment, leading to livestock deaths and decline in farm yield.

According to sources, around 400 families of Dhun village in Lhundup, near the Tibetan capital city of Lhasa were forcibly removed by Chinese authorities to make way for the mining project, work on which began in 2005.

Over the years, the mining plant has adversely effected the environment in the region, polluting water sources, minimising grassland, and reducing farm yield.

According to locals, the mine’s untreated waste which has been dumped into the river and the destruction of grassland have caused the death of livestock.

Although local Tibetans have repeatedly expressed their concerns at various levels, Chinese authorities have paid no heed to their appeals and instead labelled their efforts as politically motivated.

There is very little information on the types of minerals that are being extracted from the Chinese owned mines, although some speculate that white gold could be a major resource. According to sources, only three Tibetans work at the mining project as compared to the nearly ten thousand Chinese labourers employed. Locals have reported citing as many as ten trucks plying out of the mining site each day.

“According to some studies, this region lies in a north-dipping thrust fault and

Ractopamine – Is this the next toxic chemical food scandal from the USA, Canada Mexico & South America?

Ractopamine is now banned in 160 countries incl China & Russia, but countries like America still arrogantly argue that is safe and still allow it’s use, despite several health warnings!

Please help expose the use of this toxic chemical AND boycott the beef & pork from the countries that still use it:

1. Japan, none the the media such as NHK, The Japan Times, and Japan Today want to report on it! Why? probably because the local beef & pork industry uses the toxic chemical. Japan Agriculture also has not responded to our enquiries of the chemical use.

2. The Australian Pork Industry has also failed to respond to our enquires. The Australian Beef Assoc has, and has confirmed that the toxic chemical is not licenced or used in it’s industry.

 3. Brazilian Pork – due to be imported into Japan in 2013 already has it!

Facebook Censors Navy Seals to Protect Obama on Benghazi-Gate

Awr Hawkins / Breitbart.com

Over the weekend, Facebook took down a message by the Special Operations Speaks PAC (SOS) which highlighted the fact that Obama denied backup to the forces being overrun in Benghazi.

The message was contained in a meme which demonstrated how Obama had relied on the SEALS when he was ready to let them get Osama bin Laden, and how he had turned around and denied them when they called for backup on Sept 11.

I spoke with Larry Ward, president of Political Media, Inc — the media company that handles SOS postings and media production. Ward was the one who personally put the Navy SEAL meme up, and the one who received the warning from Facebook and an eventual 24 hour suspension from Facebook  because Ward put the meme back up after Facebook told him to take it down.

Here’s what Ward told me:

We created and posted this meme on Saturday after news broke that Obama had known and denied SEALS the backup they requested.

Once the meme was up it garnered 30,000 shares, approx. 24,000 likes, and was read by hundreds of thousands of people — all within 24 hrs. On Sunday, I went into the SOS Facebook page to post something else and found a warning from Facebook that we had violated Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities with our meme. So I copied the warning, put it on the meme as as caption, and re-posted the meme to the Facebook page.

Greece Already has Plan for Parallel Currency to Euro – Russian Central Banker

Making contingency plans for different options is the right thing to do for anyone, but saying it about Greece and with such a degree of certainty is new.

Shvestov didn’t want to share more details, but said that leaving the euro-zone is a necessity for Greece. He said it would be a “good example” for other countries.

The Russian Center for Strategic Studies in Moscow said that a Grexit will ignite a global crisis affecting the price of oil. They see a a chance of more than 50% that Greece will leave the euro-zone and that it will cause other countries will leave as well. El Economista brings this report.

Rumors about fresh polls show that anti-bailout SYRIZA is in the lead, with 30% support. The situation in Greece is so bad that the country may leave the zone even if pro-bailout parties win.

EUR/USD is struggling between 1.25 and 1.26. Is another fall coming?

If you trust Obama to veto CISPA or similar legislation you’re in for a rude awakening

Source: Activist Post

It has become incredibly frustrating to deal with people who erroneously believe that Obama and his administration will live up to a single claim, promise, or statement. Especially since neither Obama nor his pals have given us a single reason to trust them while giving us tons of reasons not to, not the least of which being the fact that they claim they can kill you or me whenever they please, based on policies which they repeatedly have refused to justify in a court of law.

Back when the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 was being pushed through the House and Senate and making its way towards Obama’s desk I attempted to make it clear that the Obama administration’s supposed intention to veto the bill was nothing more than theater.

Of course, he ended up signing the bill with a meaningless signing statement claiming that he “signed this bill despite having serious reservations with certain provisions that regulate the detention, interrogation, and prosecution of suspected terrorists.”

Now it appears that some websites like Gizmodo have completely forgotten the Obama administration’s track record and are actually giving even a shred of credence to the notion that he “will definitely veto CISPA.”

That being said, Gizmodo is far from what I would consider a reliable or reputable source given that one of their editors, Sam Biddle, fails to understand even the most basic aspects of technology he writes about. Keep in mind, we’re talking about a technology blog publishing works by writers who clearly know nothing about technology.

I’m not intending to be antagonistic; it’s just that clearly Gizmodo doesn’t have a very strict policy when it comes to researching or fact checking.
That being said, they do point to the fact that the White House is supporting Joe Lieberman’s similar cybersecurity legislation in the Senate.

They claim that Lieberman’s bill is “not quite as dangerous” although they fall far short of the mark in proving that this is the case.

They also seem to be ignoring the entire concept of amendments, which actually made the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, better known as CISPA, much worse than it already was immediately before it was passed in the House.

Lieberman’s bill is competing with Senator John McCain’s quite similar legislation, both of which put absurd power over the internet in the hands of government.

Monsanto Pesticide Found to Infect Plants with AIDS-like Disease!

When Dr. Don Huber, professor emeritus at Purdue University and internationally-recognized plant pathologist, wrote a letter back in January to US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack, warning him about a new mystery disease showing up primarily in genetically-modified (GM) crops, the notice fell on deaf ears.

Research conducted by a team of senior plant and animal scientists found that Monsanto’s glyphosate chemical, which is the primary ingredient in its popular RoundUp herbicide formula, appears responsible for infecting plants with an AIDS-like syndrome that destroys their immunity, blocks their absorption of certain vitamins and minerals, and eventually kills them.

Dr. Huber explains in his letter that the destruction caused by glyphosate does not appear limited to plants, either — animals and humans alike that consume foods tainted with the chemical, or that are exposed in some other way to it, are potentially susceptible to developing the same autoimmune disorder. For this reason, Dr. Huber urged the USDA to further investigate RoundUp, as well as to deny the deregulation of GM alfalfa.

You can read a copy of Dr. Huber’s letter for yourself here:
http://es-la.facebook.com/notes/wood-prairie-farm/the-complete-text-o…

The key factor of Dr. Huber’s discovery was a microscopic pathogen specifically prevalent in GM crops. The pathogen, he explained in an interview with Food Democracy Now! (FDN) as well as in his letter, is common. But an apparent weakening of plant immunity by glyphosate makes plants treated with the chemical more susceptible to contracting the harmful pathogen. And as a result of exposure, large swaths of GM farmland have died, and many animals that feed on GM-tainted meal have become infertile or have had abortions.

But instead of listening to the scientifically sound advice of Dr. Huber and withholding deregulation of GM alfalfa until more intense safety studies could be conducted, the USDA decided to ignore it all and approve the “Frankencrop” anyway.

But the superrich don’t pay as much as they used to—and thanks to a combination of tax cuts and preferential tax policies, their tax obligations can be less demanding than the so-called little people’s. In fact, the very wealthiest Americans’ tax burden has been steadily dropping for years, even as they’ve enjoyed astounding income growth not seen by the vast majority of Americans.

Tax rates for the wealthy have fallen substantially since they peaked in the 1940s. During the past 30 years, they have been cut at a much faster rate than middle- and low-income taxpayers’.

Just how much of a windfall are tax cuts for the wealthy? The extension of the Bush tax cuts passed last year will provide $146,000 in annual tax savings, on average, to each of the wealthiest 0.1% of Americans.

The super rich get an additional boost from relatively low tax rates on capital gains. Income from long-term investments, which makes up a larger portion of wealthier taxpayers’ incomes than middle- and low-income taxpayers’, is taxed at lower rates than wages.

Payroll taxes (deductions for Social Security, Medicare, and unemployment insurance) are mostly paid by the bottom 90 percent of earners. When they’re factored in on top of income tax, the gap between the tax rates at the very top and everyone else shrinks even more—so much that the effective tax rate for people earning more than $370,000 is nearly the same as for those earning between $43,000 and $69,000 a year.

Payroll taxes now make up nearly as much of federal tax revenue as individual income tax. Meanwhile, revenues from corporate taxes have decreased significantly over the past 50 years.

Corporations exploit various loopholes and tax breaks to reduce their IRS bills—perhaps none more notoriously than General Electric. Though the corporate tax rate is 35%, GE has paid nothing near that for nearly a decade.

Leona Helmsley’s distaste for paying taxes eventually landed her in federal prison. But the rich have little need to break the law to avoid the tax collector. As Martin A. Sullivan of Tax.com recently calculated, a New York janitor making slightly more than $33,000 a year pays an effective tax rate of nearly 25%. And the effective tax rate for a resident of the Park Avenue building named after Helmsley, earning an average of $1.2 million annually? A cool 14.7%.

Google co-founder: Freedom of the Net is under greatest threat ever-This Is A REAL Worry People!

The principles of openness and universal access that underpinned the creation of the internet three decades ago are under greater threat than ever, according to Google co-founder Sergey Brin.

In an interview with the Guardian, Brin warned that there were “very powerful forces that have lined up against the open internet on all sides and around the world”. “I am more worried than I have been in the past,” he said. “It’s scary.”

He said the threat to the freedom of the internet came from a combination of governments increasingly trying to control access and communication by their citizens, the entertainment industry attempting to crack down on piracy, and the rise of “restrictive” so-called walled gardens such as Facebook and Apple, which tightly controlled what software could be released on their platforms.

The 38-year-old billionaire, whose family fled antisemitism in the Soviet Union, was widely regarded as having been the driving force behind Google’s partial pullout from China in 2010 over concerns about censorship and cyber-attacks.

He said five years ago he did not believe China or any country could effectively restrict the internet for long, but he had been proven wrong. “I thought there was no way to put the genie back in the bottle, but now it seems in certain areas the genie has been put back in the bottle,” he said.

Although he said he was most concerned by the efforts of countries such as China, Saudi Arabia and Iran to censor and restrict use of the internet, he also warned that the rise of Facebook and Apple, which have their own proprietary platforms and control access to their users, risked stifling innovation and Balkanising the web.

“There’s a lot to be lost,” he said. “For example all the information in apps – that data is not crawlable by web crawlers. You can’t search it.”

Brin’s criticism of Facebook is likely to be controversial, with the social network approaching an estimated $100bn flotation. Google’s upstart rival has seen explosive growth, with more than 800 million members worldwide and one in two of all Americans with computer access signed up.

Brin said he and co-founder Larry Page would not have been able to create Google if the internet was dominated by Facebook. “You have to play by their rules, which are really restrictive,” he said. “The kind of environment that we developed Google in, the reason that we were able to develop a search engine, is the web was so open. Once you get too many rules that will stifle innovation.”

He also criticised Facebook for not making it easy for users to switch their data to other services. “Facebook has been sucking down Gmail contacts for many years,” he added.

Brin’s comments come on the first day of a week-long Guardian investigation of the intensifying battle for control of the internet that is being fought across the globe between governments, companies, military strategists, activists and hackers.

From Hollywood’s attempts to push through legislation allowing pirate websites to be shut down, to the British government’s plans to monitor social media and web use, the ethos of openness championed by the pioneers of the internet and worldwide web is being challenged on a number of fronts.

In China, which now has more internet users than any other country in the world, the government recently introduced new “real identity” rules in a bid to tame the boisterous micro-blogging scene. In Russia there are powerful calls to rein in a blogosphere that was blamed for fomenting a wave of anti-Putin protests. It has been reported that Iran is planning to introduce a sealed “national internet” from this summer.

Ricken Patel, co-founder of Avaaz, the 14 million-strong online activist network which has been providing communication equipment and training to Syrian activists, echoed Brin’s warning, saying: “We’ve seen a massive attack on the freedom of the web. Governments are realising the power of this medium to organise people and they are trying to clamp down across the world, not just in places like China and North Korea; we’re seeing bills in the United States, in Italy, all across the world.”

Obama betrays the left, African Americans; cheers continued expansion of drug war, criminalization of plant-based medicine Learn

Source: NaturalNews.

If you happen to need even more evidence that President Obama has gutted his campaign promises and betrayed not only the left but also African Americans who enthusiastically supported his election, he has just gone public with his support for the continued war on drugs. Keeping marijuana criminalized, it seems — and keeping more African Americans in prison — is a top priority for the Obama administration.

This means Obama supports the midnight DEA raids on our citizenry; the filling of prisons with small-time pot smokers; the disproportionately punitive sentences handed down to black men and women across America who aren’t really criminals at all… they merely suffer from a chemical addiction that would more rightly be considered a medical issue.

Nearly every country in Latin America has now openly and publicize recognized that the so-called “war on drugs” is a complete and total failure. But Obama thinks it’s just great! Fill the prisons! Prosecute more blacks! Buy more guns and night vision gear for the DEA! That’s what Obama’s America stands for, it seems.

“I personally and my administration’s position is that legalization is not the answer,” Obama said just hours before the meeting of Latin American leaders at the Convention Centre in Cartagena, Colombia, for the Americas Summit (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-17716926). Meanwhile, Obama’s top Secret Service agents and military commanders were banging Colombian whores in the background, then refusing to pay them their $47 prostitution fee.  Obama had “no comment” on that particular issue.

Let’s get real about all this. Marijuana prohibition simply doesn’t work. At least not for reducing crime and drug addiction. Anyone who thinks prohibition works is completely delusional. But it does work for certain special interests. What are those special interests, anyway?

Who BENEFITS from the continued criminalization of marijuana?

If you really want to know why prohibition remains in place with marijuana, it’s simple to find out why. Just ask yourself “Who benefits?”

• The DEA. Without a drug “problem,” the DEA won’t get hundreds of millions of dollars worth of increases in operating budgets from the federal purse strings. If drugs were decriminalized, the DEA would have to be sharply downsized (which would be a great thing for liberty and safety but a terrible thing for the DEA honchos).

• Private prisons. Thanks to illegal agreements between prison operators and state governments, prisons can put prisoners to work at slave labor wages — just a few cents an hour — manufacturing goods that the corporate prison owners sell for pure profit. If you thought the Nike sweatshops in Asia were bad, go visit a prison in the USA some time and watch the slave labor taking place right here at home.

• Local police. The “drug war” is the excuse that local police departments use to receive more grant money for weapons, assault gear and now even armored assault vehicles to be used against the citizens. Without the drug war excuse, all this grant money disappears and these cops have to go back to actually serving the community instead of bashing in doors like a bunch of cocaine cowboys.

• The government drug runners! It’s now a well-known fact that the ATF, DEA and other government agencies are all heavily involved in running drugs across America. Just Google any of these terms if you want to check it out for yourself. The ATF is even engaged in money laundering through the globalist banks. This is why government crackdowns on drugs are highly selectively — drug raids are really just a way to eliminate the competition so that the biggest drug dealer of all — the government itself — can continue to rake in the maximum profits. Legalizing drugs would obviously cause street prices to collapse, sucking all the profits out of the government-run drug business.

• Local District Attorneys and prosecutors. Without the drug war to give them a juicy field of easy targets to prosecute, their careers would take a huge hit. It’s so much harder to arrest real criminals than to go after pot smokers and raw milk farmers, isn’t it? Gee, imagine the difficulty of actually fighting REAL crime for a change?

• Big Government. The entire government benefits from the continued criminalization of drugs. For starters, it establishes the outrageous precedent that government can outlaw a native plant — even a plant that has grown wild across North America for hundreds of years. This alone is an outrageous encroachment on fundamental human freedom. Beyond that, the government can always point to “drug violence” as another excuse to squash our freedoms and put in place a tyrannical police state. It’s all “for your own good,” of course. Isn’t it always?

• Big Pharma and the hospital industry. Because recreational drugs are illegal, they’re often cut with dangerous chemicals that cause liver damage and kidney damage. This results in yet more repeat business for hospitals and the drug industry. If street drugs were legalized, they would be standardized and regulated, and adulteration of those products would be extremely rare. They would be safer to use, in other words, which is exactly what the pharmaceutical industry is dead set against. They only make money when people are damaged or sick from using street drugs concocted in somebody’s trailer.

Who LOSES from the drug war? You!

So we’ve covered the beneficiaries of the drug war, but who loses from it? You do, of course: Your liberties, freedoms, tax dollars and personal safety are all threatened by the existence of the war on drugs. Decriminalizing and regulating these drugs would have an enormously positive impact on you and your life.

If drugs were decriminalized, here’s what would happen:

• Drug gangs would vanish as their source of revenues (illegal drugs at black market prices) dry up.

• Drug-related crime would sharply fall.

• State revenues would skyrocket from the regulated sale of legalized marijuana.

• The corrupt prison industry would collapse to perhaps only 25% of its current size.

• Your personal safety and security would be greatly enhanced due to the lack of drug violence, shootings, home invasions and more.

• Mexican drug gangs would lose their power base, resulting in a sharp drop in crime along the border.

• Former “criminal” pot smokers would once again become taxpaying members of the workforce, contributing to the financial upkeep of society rather than draining it as prisoners.

• The happiness index across society would sharply rise.

Even the Red Cross says decriminalize marijuana

It’s all pure economics, my friends. Cause and effect. Legalize recreational drugs and you end the violence, the crime, the prison system overload and the entire underground market for the stuff.

It’s all so obvious that even the Red Cross has called for decriminalization (http://copssaylegalize.blogspot.com/2012/03/red-cross-calls-for-drug….).

At the same time, countless members of the FBI, DEA and active-duty police organizations are also openly calling for decriminalization (http://www.leap.cc/).

The rational argument for ending prohibition is further detailed at www.Norml.org

There are no rational reasons for keeping marijuana criminalized. There are only political reasons for doing so. That’s why Obama continues to support the irrational war on drugs — because it’s a political issue.

Obama, the betrayer of the political left

Obama, of course, is a teleprompter-reading puppet of the global elite. He does what they tell him to do, and right now they’re telling him to keep pushing Drug War propaganda because it’s a highly effective way to expand the police state and keep people living in fear while denying them access to plant-based medicine.

Obama, it turns out, has betrayed the left so many times I can hardly keep count: He supports the GMO industry, he signed the NDAA which expands secret arrests and secret Gitmo-style prisons, he’s an opponent of farm and food freedom  and he has proven himself to be nothing more than a big business operative who defends the status quo while preaching “hope and change” that he never delivers.

Obama has assaulted free speech, due process , medical freedom and parental rights. In doing so, he has betrayed many of the top priorities of the very people who once put him into office.

He wants to keep marijuana criminalized because that’s what the police state fascist system of corporate control wants.

Of course, this doesn’t mean the alternatives we’re given are going to be any better. This is not some pitch for Romney, for God’s sake. That guy is just as much of a corporate sellout as Obama (and Bush before him). Elections are created to present the illusion that the People have a choice when, in reality, all they’re voting for is which color of puppet they want to see on television while we’re all being imprisoned, exploited, enslaved and oppressed by a growing fascist state.

Care to guess which candidate would have decriminalized marijuana from the get-go? His name is Ron Paul, and the ideas of freedom and liberty that he espouses are the real answer for the future of our nation.

Nepal – Street Riots Form in Response to Monsanto Intrusion – And It worked, they stopped the Bastards!

Source: The Activist Post

After the Nepalese government decided to allow Monsanto into their borders and subsequently force farmers to use genetically modified seeds, the citizens took to the streets.

The starving nation let Monsanto in despite recent and massive bans in a number of EU countries.

Monsanto’s GMO crops have been shown by a team of 900 scientists to be virtually ineffective at combating starvation — in fact, they perform way worse than traditional and sustainable agriculture.

Now, according to some Nepal-based activists, Monsanto has been run out of the country by fierce protesting.

Threatening the nation’s main crop, corn, Monsanto’s GM corn would certainly not help the 40% of Nepalese citizens who are currently malnourished.

It seems that the Nepalese people are quite aware of this fact as well, as hordes of activists demonstrated their opposition to Monsanto and genetically modified creations on the city streets.

Hundreds of the anti-Monsanto activists gathered in Kathmandu in front of the U.S. embassy, pouring out from their homes just shortly after the announcement was made.

According to the activist group ‘Stop Monsanto in Nepal’, the protests may have succeeded. In a post on Facebook on April 6th, the group stated:

Celebrating Victory! We knew from internal sources that the Nepal-Monsanto-USAID deal was postponed indefinitely but we didn’t have a public document to claim the victory officially. But Hari Dahal, Joint secretary and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MoAC) mentioned on a recent ‘BBC Sajha Sawal’ that Monsanto will NOT be allowed in Nepal.

The news comes just after Monsanto was taken to court overknowingly poisoning workersand causing devastating birth defects. Argentinean tobacco farmers stated that the biotech giant knowingly poisoned them with herbicides and pesticides and subsequently caused ”devastating birth defects” in their children.

Twittered – Government Spying, Journalists, Robert Green & The Removal of Temporary Privileges: Writing Contest

Source: The Activist Post

This blog is written from firsthand experience and sets out to set the record straight with regard to your rights (or lack of) and the rights of Robert Green – a UK journalist jailed for 12 months for the crime of ‘planning to hand out fliers’ (Breach of the Peace).

George Carlin once said:

You have no rights, you have a set of privileges which can be taken away at any time – and a right is not a right if it can be taken away- it’s a temp. privilege

By **** he was right!

After 4 days on Twitter I lost my right to tweet . . . OK not a god given right . . . FREE SPEECH!

But then what is?

For those of you who may not be aware – Robert Green was a UK journalist who had his temp. privilege — the right to be free — removed for the crime of ‘planning to hand out fliers’ which asked for an honest independent investigation into an alleged crime.

He was jailed for 9 months for breach of the peace with an additional 3 months added for breach of bail. Sounds impossible doesn’t it?  But try factoring in that the person he believed to be guilty was a judge and former colleague of the judge that sentenced him.

Now if Robert Green had been jailed or sued for slander or something similar – I could understand that. But can explain to me then how the crime of FREE EXPRESSION and FREE SPEECH warrants a year in jail in a ‘democracy’?  I’ve exercised my temp. privilege, the right to speak about this subject, although I am no longer able to do this on Twitter as I lost my right to Tweet immediately after I sent a mainstream journalist a link re Robert Green which asked him to investigate the story for himself. One of the keywords above is immediately. How did TPTB know what I had shared the instant I had shared it? Was my Twitter account being monitored? Sounds a little paranoid, but let me set the background.

I shut down my first Twitter account months back after receiving threats and abuse for pointing the facts out about the illegal war in Libya in a letter to Parliament. My MP took the letter I sent so seriously I received a response from A Burt at the foreign office which, in his mind at least, justified:

  • the legitimacy of starting an illegal conflict over Oil and Gold
  • using Depleted Uranium in a conflict zone
  • destroying The Great Man Made River
  • killing thousands of innocents
  • destroying the homes of thousands of more in the process

Against my better judgement I set up a new Twitter account; my intention being to share information which has been beneficial to my family about alternative medicine, especially with regard to treating cancer.

My thought was that if I put the information to Gary Lineker and had him pass it on to Stillian Petrov, once they realised it was proven fact that nature has provided us with what we need to stay/get healthy for thousands of years, it could cause reverberations around the health industry and start a revolution.

In China, until recently, 1 in 10,000 women died of breast cancer each year, opposed to one in 12 in UK. Rather than answer the question, I instead asked Linker to investigate it for himself by sending him a link to Confessions of a Kamikaze Cowboy – a book by Dirk Bennedict which details how shunning conventional cancer treatment and switching to a macrobiotic diet had cured him.

I encourage you to research this for yourselves; you will find the information shared by people such as Rick Simpson, Mike Adams, David Icke, Ian Crane, etc. has been known to man for thousands of years and has been suppressed since the Rockefellers took over the oil and medicine industries.

I am delighted to say that information shared by David Icke, Ian Crane etc. has been very beneficial with regard to the health of one of my family members.

As a result, I felt compelled to share it, having achieved my original goal and having made some new friends in the process. I then looked to share other information and perhaps have some interesting questions answered.

Was the threat of War with Iran what drove oil prices through the roof and benefited those who had speculated on oil futures back in October (see Gordon Duff’s article ‘Something fishy in the Gulf’)

My opinion is that although some experts will say that War with Iran is inevitable in order to impose a Rothschild-controlled central bank, having seen the Iranian president you will find that he makes the sign of baphomet and greets US presenters with Masonic handshakes – this, in my mind at least, signals to the occult world that he is already a puppet doing his masters’ bidding.

The real War is the financial War – yes, the day will most likely come when they bomb Iran to the ground, then rebuild it – but not until they have milked every cent out of oil futures first.

Another thing I shared with a journalist on Twitter was a question: Were details of Whitney Houston’s conversion to Islam removed from the English version of the Web? Before her death this was all over the Web… Now I can only find it in the Italian mainstream media http://www.ilmessaggero.it/articolo.php?id=180647#

Okay, four busy days on Twitter.  What lead up to my removal was explaining the original Carlin quote to a journalist, equating it to two ‘News’ stories from this week:

  • The UK government saying that they would re-address their plans with regard to a NEW privacy law due to public outcry.
  • The SKY News hacking scandal.

If a journalist can get the authority to hack into your emails ‘because it may be in the public interest’ do you really think a Government agent cannot?

In reality, they have been snooping on us for years. George Carlin was right – you just have a bunch of temporary privileges which they can take away without hesitation under things such as the broadest b/s legislation ever – the anti terrorism legislation implemented as planned after 7/7 & 9/11.

Yes they have the right to access ALL of your information without your knowledge because they might have a ‘suspicion’ or they might know someone who suspects that you might know something.  I.E. they need no excuse at all.

And what happens when the Government announce a plan to do.. well what they already do.. a bunch of uniformed people say.. I’m really annoyed.. Please stop.. And the government give them the illusion of power..

To this end, I suggest that the immediate removal of my right to tweet proves that the Government clawing back on privacy plans due to uproar was only a smoke screen. An illusion to distract the public about what goes on in the real world – you know a World where our government views security as ensuring its sponsors make money from the oil and opium trade, the means of which is forcing our soldiers to kill and die for the resources raped and pillaged in blood from the world over.

As Gregg Braden said – the Earth will be here in 5000 years. Whether or not we as a race will still be on it, or whether we destroy ourselves by fighting with each other for resources, which is shared equally would easily sustain us, is up to us.

I long for a world where the people should encourage the best honest minds amongst us (Gregg Braden, Max Keiser, Stacy Herbert, Alex Jones, David Icke, Mike Adams, Richard D Hall, Ian R Crane, Al Martin, Gordon Duff, etc.) get together for the benefit of the people to discuss how the information regarding how suppressed sources of health/energy/technology should be released, thus saving millions of lives and uniting us as one race working together in order that we understand and develop it in order to benefit ourselves as a global community.

If you are an intelligence officer reading this – I imagine you signed up for the agency to do good. I ask you: ARE you doing good by backing the elite with their plan to wipe the majority of humanity off the planet whilst making as much bloodmoney as possible through human sacrifice?

Or would you be doing good by standing up for people like Robert Green who should not only be freed BUT should be respected and congratulated for having the balls to stand up for what is right?

We the people have a right to that – but we have to stand together as the PEOPLE and show our governments and the people that sponsor them that we are taking away their temporary privilege of ruling us.

The first step is to stand up as the people and ask that the good journalists and intelligence agents amongst us do what is right and FREE ROBERT GREEN

EPA Collusion in Monsanto Coverup – This IS Very Bad, Please TAKE ACTION to stop!

Source: OrganicConsumers.org

2,4-D and the dioxin pollution it creates are too dangerous to allow, period, but in the hands of bad actors like Monsanto and Dow Chemical the dangers increase exponentially. What’s the Environmental Protection Agency doing? Helping coverup the chemical companies’ crimes!

In February, Monsanto agreed to pay up to $93 million in a class-action lawsuit brought by the residents of Nitro, West Virginia, for dioxin exposure from accidents and pollution at an herbicide plant that operated in their town from 1929 to 2004.

That may seem like justice, but it is actually the result of Monsanto’s extraordinary efforts to hide the truth, evade criminal prosecution and avoid legal responsibility.

A brief criminal fraud investigation conducted (and quickly aborted) by the EPA revealed that Monsanto used a disaster at their Nitro, WV, plant to manufacture “evidence” that dioxin exposure produced a skin condition called chloracne, but was not responsible for neurological health effects or cancers such as Non-Hodgkins lymphoma.

These conclusions were repeatedly utilized by EPA and the Veterans Administration to deny help to citizens exposed to dioxin, if these persons did not exhibit chloracne.

The EPA knew the truth about Monsanto’s dioxin crimes, but it decided to hide it. Why? It would have affected us all. EPA’s brief criminal investigation of Monsanto included evidence that Monsanto knowingly contaminated Lysol with dioxin, even as the product was being marketed for cleaning babies’ toys.

Here are the details of this jaw-dropping and heart-breaking case of corporate criminality and EPA collusion.

According to Natural News:

  • In the town of Nitro, West Virginia, Monsanto operated a chemical plant from 1929 to 1995, making an herbicide that had dioxin as a by-product. The name dioxin refers to a group of highly toxic chemicals that have been linked to heart and liver disease, human reproductive disorders, and developmental problems. Dioxin persists in the environment and accumulates in the body, even in small amounts. In 2001, the U.S. government listed dioxin as a “known human carcinogen”.
  • In 1949, at the Nitro plant, a pressure valve blew on a container of this herbicide, producing a plume of vapor and white smoke that drifted out over the town. Residue coated the interior of buildings and those inside them with a fine black powder. Within days, workers experienced skin eruptions, and many were diagnosed with chloracne, a long lasting and disfiguring condition. Others felt intense pains in their chest, legs and trunk. A medical report from the time said the explosion “caused a systemic intoxication in the workers involving most major organ systems.” Doctors detected a strong odor coming from the patients they described as men “excreting a foreign chemical through their skins”.
  • Monsanto downplayed the incident, saying that the contaminant was “fairly slow acting” and only an irritant to the skin.
  • Meanwhile, the Nitro plant continued to produce herbicides, In the 1960′s it manufactured Agent Orange, the powerful herbicide used by the U.S. military to defoliate jungles during the Vietnam War, and which became the focus of lawsuits by veterans contending they had been harmed by exposure to the chemical. Agent Orange also created dioxin as a by-product.
  • At the Nitro plant, dioxin waste went into landfills, storm drains, streams, sewers, into bags with the herbicide, and then the waste was burned out into the air. Dioxin from the plant can still be found in nearby streams, rivers, and fish.

http://youtu.be/gWA_IBakjyo

According to Source Watch, in 1990, Cate Jenkins, a PhD chemist at EPA, became convinced that Monsanto had deliberately manipulated studies of worker victims of the Nitro disaster showing that dioxin was a human carcinogen.

Dr. Jenkins wrote a memorandum entitled “Newly Revealed Fraud by Monsanto in an Epidemiological Study Used by EPA to Assess Human Health Effects from Dioxins.” Read the memo at PureFood.org.

According to her memo:

  • Dr. Raymond Suskind at the University of Cincinnati was hired by Monsanto to study the workers at Monsanto’s Nitro, West Virginia plant. Dr. Suskind stated in published studies in question that chloracne, a skin condition was the prime indicator of high human dioxin exposures, and no other health effects would be observed in the absence of this condition. Unpublished studies by Suskind, however, indicate the fallacy of this statement. No workers except those having chloracne were ever examined by Suskind or included in his study. In other words, if no workers without chloracne were ever examined for other health effects, there is no basis for asserting that chloracne was “the hallmark of dioxin intoxication.”
  • These conclusions have been repeatedly utilized by EPA, the Veterans Administration, etc., to deny any causation by dioxin of health effects of exposed citizens, if these persons did not exhibit chloracne.
  • The results of Dr. Suskind’s studies also were diluted by the fact that the exposed group contained not only individuals having chloracne (a genuine, but not the only effect of dioxin exposure), but also all workers having any type of skin condition such as chemical rash. The workers could have had no or negligible dioxin exposures, but they were included in the study as part of the heavily exposed group. This fact was revealed only by the careful reading of the published Suskind study.
  • Further, Dr. Suskind utilized statistics on the skin conditions of workers compiled by a Monsanto clerical worker, without any independent verification.
  • Dr. Suskind also covered-up the documented neurological damage from dioxin exposures. At Workers Compensation hearings, Suskind denied that the workers experienced any neurological health effects. In the Kemner, et al. v. Monsanto proceedings, however, it was revealed that Suskind had in his possession at the time examinations of the workers by Monsanto’s physician, Dr. Nestman, documenting neurological health effects.
  • In his later published study, Dr. Suskind denied the continuing documented neurological health effects suffered by the workers, falsely stating that symptoms “had cleared.”
  • All of the Monsanto dioxin studies also suffer another fatal flaw. The purported “dioxin unexposed” control group was selected from other workers at the same Monsanto plant. An earlier court settlement revealed not only that these supposedly unexposed workers were exposed to dioxins, but also to other carcinogens. One of these carcinogens, para-amino biphenyl, was known by Monsanto to be a human carcinogen and it was also known that workers were heavily exposed.
  • Another Monsanto study involved independent medical examinations of surviving employees by Monsanto physicians. Several hundred former Monsanto employees were too ill to travel to participate in the study. Monsanto refused to use the attending physicians reports of the illness as part of their study, saying that it would introduce inconsistencies. Thus, any critically ill dioxin-exposed workers with cancers such as Non-Hodgkins lymphoma (associated with dioxin exposures), were conveniently excluded from the Monsanto study.
  • There are numerous other flaws in the Monsanto health studies. Each of these misrepresentations and falsifications always served to negate any conclusions of adverse health effects from dioxins.

Within days of learning that the Office of Enforcement had initiated a criminal investigation of Monsanto based on Jenkins’ allegations, her job duties were withdrawn without warning. She was not given any assignments from August 30, 1990 until she was reassigned on April 8, 1992 to a job which was primarily administrative or clerical.

According to a 1994 report on “EPA’s Phony Investigation of Monsanto,” by William Sanjour, Policy Analyst, US Environmental Protection Agency, published in Rachel’s Hazardous Waste News:

  • Dr. Jenkins filed a complaint with the Department of Labor claiming that she was being harassed for carrying out perfectly legal activities. The Labor Department investigated and found in Jenkins favor. The EPA appealed three times all the way up to the Secretary of Labor but each time the Department came down in favor of Jenkins finding that “None of the rationales [explaining her transfer] given by EPA … appear valid”.
  • In August of 1992, EPA quietly closed the criminal investigation without ever determining or even attempting to determine if the Monsanto studies were valid or invalid, let alone fraudulent. … There was no public announcement that the investigation was closed. Dr. Jenkins didn’t learn about it until fifteen months later. Yet Monsanto knew within a few days of EPA’s closing the case.

Why did Monsanto and the EPA go to such great lengths to hide the truth? It would have affected us all. EPA’s brief criminal investigation of Monsanto included evidence that Monsanto knowingly contaminated Lysol with dioxin, even as the product was being marketed for cleaning babies’ toys.

Dr. Jenkin’s memo also contained evidence that Lysol, a product made from Monsanto’s Santophen, was contaminated with dioxin with Monsanto’s knowledge. The manufacturer of Lysol was not told about the dioxin by Monsanto for fear of losing his business. Other companies using Santophen, who specifically asked about the presence of dioxin, were lied to by Monsanto.

This is just one example of why we can’t trust the EPA to stop Monsanto and Dow Chemical from poisoning us with dioxin.

USA – Secret Service Agents Sued for “Viewpoint Discrimination”

Source: All Gov.

A federal appellate court has ruled that two Secret Service agents must face charges for violating the free speech rights of protesters by engaging in “viewpoint discrimination” during the administration of President George W. Bush.

On October 14, 2004, Secret Service agents Tim Wood and Rob Savage were part of President Bush’s security detail when he visited the mining town of Jacksonville, Oregon. Groups of both pro- and anti-Bush demonstrators gathered outside the hotel where Bush was staying. According to court papers, relations between the two sides were non-violent and “cordial.” However, Wood and Savage then ordered state and local law enforcement officers to move the Bush critics away from the building and undergo security screening, while allowing the pro-Bush crowd to get closer and not endure the screening. The law enforcement officers used “clubs, pepperspray bullets, and violent shoving” to accomplish their task.

With the help of the American Civil Liberties Union, seven anti-Bush demonstrators sued the Secret Service, claiming Wood and Savage violated their First Amendment rights.

The agents filed a motion to have the lawsuit dismissed. But the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals rejected the motion and denied qualified immunity to Wood and Savage.

USA – 10 Unbelievably Shitty Things America Does to Homeless People : “God Bless America – NOT”!

No population has their human and civil rights so casually and routinely trampled as do homeless Americans.

For decades, cities all over the country have worked to essentially criminalize homelessness, instituting measures that outlaw holding a sign, sleeping, sitting, lying (or weirdly, telling a lie in Orlando) if you live on the street.

Where the law does not mandate outright harassment, police come up with clever work-arounds, like destroying or confiscating tents, blankets and other property in raids of camps. A veteran I talked to, his eye bloody from when some teenagers beat him up to steal 60 cents, said police routinely extracted the poles from his tent and kept them so he couldn’t rebuild it. (Where are all the pissed-off libertarians and conservatives at such flagrant disrespect for private property?)

In the heady ’80s, Reagan slashed federal housing subsidies even as a tough economy threw more and more people out on the street. Instead of resolving itself through the magic of the markets, the homelessness problem increasingly fell to local governments.

“When the federal government created the homelessness crisis, local governments did not have the means of addressing the issue. So they use the police to manage homeless people’s presence,” Jennifer Fredienrich told AlterNet last year. At about the same time, the arrest-happy “broken windows theory,” which encourages law enforcement to bust people for “quality of life” crimes, offered ideological support for finding novel ways to legally harass people on the street.

Many of the policies end up being wildly counterproductive: a criminal record bars people from the very programs designed to get them off the street, while defending unconstitutional measures in court ends up costing cities money that could be used to fund homeless services.

Here is an incomplete list of laws, ordinances and law enforcement and government tactics that violate homeless people’s civil liberties.

1. Outlawing sitting down. People are allowed to exist in public, but sometimes the homeless make that civic rule inconvenient, like when their presence perturbs tourists or slows the spread of gentrification. One solution to this problem is the “sit-lie” law, a bizarrely authoritarian measure that bans sitting or resting in a public space. The law is clearly designed to empower police to chase homeless people out of nice neighborhoods, rather than protect cities from the blight of public sidewalk-sitting.

Cities around the country have passed ordinances of varying awfulness: some limit resting in certain areas during certain times of the day, while progressive bastion San Francisco voted in November 2010 to outlaw sitting or laying down on any city sidewalk. The measure was bankrolled by some of the richest people in the city, who poured so much money into the campaign that homelessness advocates were outmatched $280,000 to $7,802, reported SF Gate. (After the measure passed, Chris Roberts of the SF Appeal found that support for the law was strongest in the richer parts of the city with the fewest homeless.)

Supporters of sit-lie claim the law helps police deal with disruptive behavior like harassment and public drunkenness, and that getting people off the street will get them into shelters. Homelessness advocates counter that the disruptive behaviors associated with some homeless people are already against the law.

2. Denying people access to shelters. In November the Bloomberg administration tried to institute new rules that would force shelters to deny applicants who failed to prove they had no other housing options, like staying with relatives or friends (NYC’s overcrowded shelters being so appealing that people with access to housing are desperate to sneak in).

A State Supreme Court judge struck down the new measure in February, admonishing the mayor’s office for rushing through the plan without adequate public vetting. (Critics also argued the new rules would conflict with a New York consent decree that guarantees shelter to all homeless adults who ask for it.) Not easily discouraged from making the lives of poor people harder, Bloomberg fumed, “We’re going to do everything we can to have the ability to do it … Or let the judges explain to the public why they think that you should just have a right to walk in and say, ‘Whether I need services or not, you give it to me.’ I don’t think that’s what this country’s all about.”

Homeless families are not covered under the 1981 decree that guarantees shelter space to homeless single adults, so they’ve had to prove need to get a space at a shelter for years. The results have not been great. A report prepared by the New York city council cited a study showing that many homeless families who are turned away often end up reapplying, suggesting that their needs were not accurately assessed — and that they likely ended up sleeping on the street or in subways. NBC New York recently profiled a mother and two kids (6 and 10), who were sleeping in Penn Station after being turned away from the shelter three times.

In 2010 Bloomberg also tried to institute a policy charging homeless families rent if at least one member worked, at a rate that would have forced a family making $25,000 to pay $946 a month. (After major protest by homelessness advocates the policy changed so instead of flowing to the city the money would be funneled into savings accounts used to help families find housing.)

Patrick Markee, senior analyst for Coalition for the Homeless, tells AlterNet that the bigger problem is the Bloomberg administration’s ideologically driven policy to limit access to federal housing programs. In 2005 Bloomberg replaced federal housing subsidies with temporary assistance programs like Advantage, which subsidized housing for a limited time and only if at least one member of a family is employed. Rocky from the start, Advantage was killed in 2011 when the state withdrew funds.

A 2011 study by the Coalition for the Homeless found that the rate of homeless families in New York had exploded to a record 113, 533 people — 42,888 of them children — sleeping in shelters.

3. Making it illegal to give people food. Two weeks ago, Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter announced a citywide ban on giving food to the hungry in public parks. Amidst outcry by homelessness advocates and religious and charity groups, Nutter insisted the policy is meant to draw unhoused people to indoor facilities where they might benefit from medical care and mental health services. Critics pointed out that the policy — rushed to go into effect in 29 days — may have more to do with planned renovation of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and the construction of a new museum, as Isaiah Thompson reported in the Philadelphia City Paper.

Public feeding bans are not new, and they continue to crop up despite being routinely overturned by the courts. The city of Orlando, for one, is committed to wiping out the scourge of public food donation, embroiling itself in a five-year battle with Food Not Bombs that has cost the city more than $150,000.

A 2006 statute forced charity groups in Orlando to obtain special permits, only two of which were issued per year, and punished feeding more than 25 people with 60 days in jail or a $500 fine. A federal judge overturned the law in 2010, citing a litany of constitutional rights breached by the measure: freedom of speech, freedom of religion (one of the plaintiffs was a religious organization), freedom of assembly, and freedom of association. “Rather than address the problem of homelessness in these downtown neighborhoods directly, the City has instead decided to limit the expressive activity which attracts the homeless to these neighborhoods,” the judge said in his ruling.

Orlando officials took up the case again, pushing it further and further up the courts, until a panel of judges finally voted in favor of the city in 2010. The law got worldwide attention when Food Not Bombs activists continued to feed the hungry. Twelve people were arrested and Orlando’s mayor unhelpfully deemed the group “food terrorists,” reported the Florida Independent. “Why is it that in certain US cities feeding pigeons is OK, but giving a homeless child a handout is a $2,000 fine,” the National Coalition for the Homeless asked in a 2010 report on food bans (Dallas can fine churches $2,000 for distributing food in certain areas).

4. Installing obstacles to prevent sleeping or sitting. Many cities have invested in their homeless torture infrastructure, spending thousands to install obstacles preventing the homeless from sleeping, standing, or sitting in parks, under bridges and next to public transportation.

Big Pharma is on the hunt for ways to help you lose weight: With Heart Issues & Mental Illness?

Sounds like a good thing, doesn’t it? Not so fast. The US weight loss market is a cash cow worth more than $60 billion. Of course Big Pharma wants its slice of the pie. And it believes drugs are the answer.

The FDA hasn’t approved a weight loss drug in 13 years. But that could change soon. Three drugs are on the table right now. They’ve all been rejected once already, but they’re being submitted again. An FDA panel is now backing at least one of them, even though the evidence shows they won’t work at all for about 60 percent of people. The other 40 percent might see minimal results at best.

Worse? Evidence shows that some weight loss pills can cause serious health problems, from heart issues to mental illness.

Weight Loss with a Side of Heart Attack?

Two of the three weight loss drugs currently under FDA review are simply new concoctions of existing prescription drugs.

Qnexa is a combination of an amphetamine and an anti-convulsant drug. It’s the one that just got a 20-2 vote of approval from an FDA panel. The final ruling is expected in mid-April.

This drug has the most impressive weight loss results of any. But studies show that it raises the heart rate and causes heart palpitations, two side effects that can lead to heart attack. It’s also linked to psychiatric problems and birth defects.

A long-term study has yet to be issued on the side effects of Qnexa. Conducting the study will cost millions and take years to complete. The drug’s supporters believe there should be a study to assess the safety of the drug, but not until after it gets released.

Dr. Elaine Morrato from the University of Colorado believes Qnexa fills an “urgent need” for people with obesity. Dr. Kenneth Burman of the Washington Hospital Center is another supporter. “The potential benefits seem to trump the side effects,” he says. But he’s less certain of the outcome. “In truth, only time will tell.”

Other top doctors don’t see it the same way. They believe the drugs are dangerous and there are much better ways to lose weight.

Dr. Michael S. Lauer is a cardiologist at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. He was one of the two people on the FDA panel to vote against approval of Qnexa. He believes the side effects are a danger signal.

“The consequence of making a mistake here is huge,” he says. “We’ve unfortunately had many examples of having made mistakes before.”

Contrave is another drug that’s being resubmitted for FDA approval. It’s a combination of an antidepressant and an anti-smoking drug.

The problem with Contrave is that it’s ineffective. Only 40 percent of patients on the drug saw “positive” results. That means they lost five percent of their body weight.

As an example, take 100 people who weigh 250 pounds and are all taking Contrave. Only 40 of them will lose around 12 pounds. The other 60 people will lose nothing. These results barely even classify it as a weight loss drug by FDA standards.

The third drug seeking FDA approval is a one-of-a-kind weight loss pill called lorcaserin. It works by stimulating serotonin receptors and “tricking” your brain into not eating. On the first review, FDA described lorcaserin’s efficacy as “marginal.”

Again, that’s not the worst part. One study shows that it is linked to cancerous tumor development in animals. Marginal weight loss at the expense of cancer risk? Not exactly a good trade off.

But Big Pharma isn’t alone in peddling ineffective weight loss “solutions” that do little more than lighten your wallet.

The $2.4 Billion Industry with No Results

Natural weight loss supplements generate $2.4 billion in revenues in the US. You can have your pick from hundreds of options.

Unfortunately, a new study published in the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise shows that most weight loss supplements simply don’t work.

Melinda Manore, a professor of nutrition and exercise sciences at Oregon State University and a board member of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition, led the study.

She reviewed hundreds of weight loss supplements and found flaws with most of them.

Her study looked at four categories of weight loss supplements:

Products that block the absorption of fat or carbs
Stimulants that boost metabolism – like synephrine or ephedra
Products that claim to change body composition by decreasing fat
Appetite suppressants

Manore discovered that many of these products had no clinical trials that proved they work. Those studies that had “positive” results showed an average of about two pounds of weight loss.

Many also had small sample sizes and there was little or no follow-up to determine whether the weight loss lasted.

“Unless you alter your diet and get daily exercise, no (weight loss) supplement is going to have a big impact,” she says.

Manore does say that some weight loss supplements have positive results. But she notes that they can have side effects “ranging from the unpleasant, such as bloating and gas, to very serious issues such as strokes and heart problems.” The evidence clearly points to one thing: no magic pill can help you lose weight and keep it off. Not from Big Pharma…and not from the natural supplement industry.

The good news is there are scientifically proven ways to manage your weight. And the only side effects you’ll see are positive ones.

Three Ways to Lose Weight Now

New research from top universities – including Harvard and Duke – shows that lifestyle changes are vital for weight loss. Their lifestyle intervention program helped obese people lose weight and keep it off. They also saw major improvements in their blood pressure.

Try these three things to drop pounds now…

Exercise daily. That could mean doing an interval-training routine at the gym… Or taking a long walk when you wake up each morning. If you have the luxury, walk to work or the grocery store instead of driving.
Another way to avoid weight gain is to not eat spontaneously. Plan your meals for the week. Or at least plan your dinner each morning. Make sure you eat plenty of vegetables at each meal. You’ll want to eat fruit, too. Berries are your best bet. But stay away from sugary fruit juices. And avoid eating processed foods and breads.

Add more protein and healthy fats to your diet in the form of grass-fed beef, pastured pork and poultry, sardines and wild salmon, coconut oil and avocados. These nutritious foods will satisfy your hunger for hours. And they won’t spike your insulin levels, which can prompt your body to store fat.The pharmaceutical industry and some supplement manufacturers would like you to believe there’s a magic pill that can help you lose weight. They also want you to believe that weight loss is difficult and involves sacrifice and deprivation.

Nothing could be further from the truth. When you consume organic, whole, natural foods you won’t feel hungry. That’s because these foods are rich in nutrients and full of protein, healthy fats and slowly digested carbs. These foods will help you naturally gravitate toward your optimal weight.

Add some exercise to the equation…and you’ll see that no pills are needed…

FDA says fresh milk is dangerous, but the chemical BPA is perfectly safe! WTF!

The FDA, the organization that conspired with California bureaucrats to attack raw milk distribution centers over the past two years, has just announced it will not ban BPA. The FDA says there isn’t enough evidence of BPA being harmful to humans (that’s a lie) and therefore it cannot be justifiably banned.

The real story here, however, is that the FDA routinely allows toxic and even deadly chemicals to remain legal in the food supply while working to ban dietary supplements and nutritional support products that are actually good for you. The FDA, for example, hasn’t outlawed aspartame, MSG, sodium nitrite, partially-hydrogenated oils, high-fructose corn syrup or even petroleum-derived artificial colors. Instead, it focuses its regulatory power on outlawing Chinese Medicine herbs, nutritional supplements and natural sweeteners.

For example, it was only recently that the herbal sweetener stevia was even tolerated by the FDA. For decades before that, the FDA would seize all imports of the herb and even order distributors to burn their recipe books containing stevia recipes.

The FDA positions synthetic chemicals as if they were nutrients

Meanwhile, the FDA has never met an industry-sponsored toxic chemical it didn’t like. Whether it’s BPA, or sodium benzoate, or fluoride, if Big Pharma or the chemical industry is behind it, the FDA magically and consistently declares the chemical to be good for you!

That happens, of course, because the FDA is a gang of back-stabbing criminals who betray the American people at every opportunity while “approving” deadly pharmaceuticals, vaccines and chemical food additives for mass consumption.

BPA, for the record, has been linked to cancers and hormone disruptions, and this happens at ridiculously low levels of contamination (parts per billion). But the FDA looks at this and thinks, “This could be HUGE for the pharmaceutical business!” The more people are sickened by BPA, in other words, the more people eventually buy high-profit prescription drugs to treat the symptoms brought on from the consumption of BPA. It’s all about the continuity of profits for the FDA’s buddies at Big Pharma.

Follow the money: $8 billion in BPA revenues

There may be yet another angle on this entire story: Anthony Gucciardi from Natural Society is reporting that BPA producers are rolling in a whopping $8 billion in sales on this chemical:

“Producers of toxic BPA are now boasting $8 billion in sales for 2012 thanks to the FDA rejecting a potential ban on the cancer-linked chemical on March 30th. According to GlobalData, manufacturers will produce 4.7 million metric tons of BPA this year to be dispersed into the daily lives of millions worldwide. BPA now goes into everything: plastic bottles, canned foods, DVDs, plastic wrap, and much more.” (http://naturalsociety.com/bpa-makers-to-gross-8-billion-thanks-to-fda…)

The FDA, of course, has a long history of protecting the profits of the chemical industry rather than protecting the health interests of the people. So no one who understands the true nature of the FDA — a corrupt gang of corporate sellouts — is surprised by this decision. It’s yet another piece of evidence adding to the mountain of proof that the FDA is a clear and present danger to the health and safety of the American people.
