Stunning truths now out about the global banking elite; JP Morgan, Bank of America, Citibank & other major banks R all insolvent. Their financial collapse is inevitable.

If you listen to the recent interviews conducted by Alex Jones, ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13pXBAMwy-Q)  you will hear his guests make the following points (and many more):

• JP Morgan, Bank of America, Citibank and other major banks are all insolvent. Their financial collapse is inevitable.

• Your monthly statements from these financial institutions are total fraud, as that money doesn’t even exist in these banks. It’s like Bernie Madoff, but several orders of magnitude worse…

• The Goldman Sachs criminal banksters are brazenly trying to economically conquer the world by destroying those national leaders who oppose their toxic debt schemes while placing their loyalist economic terrorists in key positions of political power. Refer to Confessions of an Economic Hit Man by John Perkins for more details on how this actually works.

• The economic devastation now being experienced by countries like the USA is a deliberately planned scheme of economic destruction designed to allow the global banking elite to confiscate enormous resources from targeted nations. Some nations have been forced into giving up their oil fields, water supplies and even their financial sovereignty to be used as collateral for global bankster bailouts.

• There are already increasing calls for bankers to be executed for engaging in these crimes that are effectively stealing trillions of dollars (or equivalent in local currencies) from the people of our world. While calls for such drastic action may seem extreme at the moment, no doubt more people will join in such calls as they begin to lose their pensions and savings accounts when the financial collapse tidal wave reaches their personal bank accounts.

S&P downgrades credit risk ratings a dozen global banks

As yet more proof that the global financial house of cards is about to violently collapse, Standard & Poor’s took action late yesterday to downgrade the ratings of key globalist banks (http://www.foxbusiness.com/industri…). Banks downgraded by S&P include:

• Citigroup
• Wells Fargo
• Bank of America
• Goldman Sachs
• JPMorgan Chase
• Morgan Stanley
• Barclays

… and many others. These ratings downgrades stemmed in part from the realization that failures of these banks may not be covered by governments which claim to insure their deposits.

The FDIC, for example, can only cover a few hundred million dollars in bank losses, yet Bank of America recently engaged in some particularly wicked transactional voodoo that slopped a jaw-dropping $75 trillion (yes, with a “T”) worth of derivatives risk on the back of the FDIC (http://seekingalpha.com/article/301…). It doesn’t take a mathematical genius to realize that if just a tiny percentage of these BofA derivatives fail, the FDIC is instantly and irreparably bankrupt.

So much for your own bank account being “FDIC insured,” huh? Who is insuring the FDIC?

In other words, if you have deposits with these large banks, there is a very real risk that those deposits may suddenly disappear in much the same way that customer accounts at MF Global recently vanished, never to be returned.

It’s clear from all this that the financial quickening is upon us. The inevitable financial corrections stemming from the global spread of toxic debt are now at our doorstep. While it is possible that clever bureaucrats and finance fixers may be able to rig temporary solutions that delay “the big correction” a while longer, there is no questioning the fact that such a correction is inevitable — and the longer it’s delayed, the worse it’s going to get.

By historical comparison, what our world is about to experience will make the economic misery of The Great Depression look like child’s play. Think 50% unemployment, the collapse of multiple global banking giants, police state Martial Law in nearly every nation, and the eventual payout of perhaps ten cents on the dollar for all the masses who once thought they had FDIC-insured savings accounts.

Stay informed. Read NaturalNews for regular updates as this situation develops. And take active steps right now to diversify your assets. Buy some farmland instead of sitting on cash, for example, because there will be a day when your dollar will be worth less than dirt anyway. You might as well trade those dollars for dirt while you still can.

Qantas pilot under review after getting steamy midair with a passenger

qantas

A QANTAS pilot is under investigation over a mile-high scandal with a female passenger during a long-haul flight to Australia.

Passengers in the first class section of QF32 from London were stunned at the pilot’s amorous antics with the woman.

He was seen sitting on her lap during the flight in the luxurious premium section of the Qantas A380 jet before things became quite steamy, sources told the Herald Sun.

The seat has privacy walls and reclines to become a bed. The pilot was off-duty and not in uniform at the time of the incident.

He was scolded twice by crew as passengers became annoyed at the public display of affection, sources said.

After the flood of complaints, the pilot shifted to economy.

Qantas said an investigation was under way that could cost the pilot his $240,000-a-year job.

The female passenger left the flight in Singapore and the pilot returned to the first-class cabin.

It was unclear whether the pilot knew the woman before boarding the flight, or if he was intoxicated.

First-class passengers are entitled to a range of wines, spirits and beers.

The pilot stayed on the flight, which landed in Sydney at 8.10pm on Friday.

A Qantas spokeswoman confirmed there was an incident.

“Qantas is aware of an incident involving a travelling crew member on board QF32. The matter is being investigated internally in line with Qantas policy,” the spokeswoman said.

“Interaction of that nature is something that wouldn’t be sanctioned.”

The Australian and International Pilots Association has vowed to defend the pilot.

AIPA vice-president Captain Richard Woodward said he was aware of the incident and was gathering more detail.

“The rights of this member, like any other, will be defended by AIPA should the need arise,” he said.

It is not the first time that amorous behaviour on a Qantas flight has hit the headlines.

Actor Ralph Fiennes was sprung in a tryst with former Qantas hostess Lisa Robertson in January 2007.

Mother-of-two Chung Pham given five weeks to clean up her cockroach infested, rubbish littered and dog faesces covered residence or she faces eviction

AN Ipswich mother-of-two living in cheap taxpayer-funded accommodation has been given five weeks to clean up her cockroach infested, rubbish littered and dog faeces covered property or face possible eviction.

The Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal of Australia this month ordered Chung Pham “thoroughly and professionally” clean her rented Queensland Housing Department owned residence at Goodna which is “heavily soiled with dog excrement”, “cockroach infestations” as well as “large amounts of rubbish and other unsanitary material.”

QCAT adjudicator William LeMass, in a just published five-page decision, said the State of Queensland Housing and Homelessness Services department claim Ms Pham was in “substantial breach’’ of her lease by continuing to leave the property in a “state of disarray.”

The Department claims Ms Pham’s Marion Street property – for which she pays $100 a week in rent – had completely overgrown lawns and gardens, and the Department possessed photos that show the inside of the house “is if anything, worse than the outside.”

Mr LeMass said a senior housing officer had “worked” with Ms Pham to address the squalid conditions in which she was living since November last year, but that she had so far been “dismissive to the point of abusive.”

The officer provided evidence to the tribunal that showed inside the house was “heavily soiled with evidence of cockroach infestation”, cluttered to the point of being a fire hazard and riddled with dog faeces and rubbish.

“(Ms Pham) is living in an independent home with her two children (aged 7 and 9) as state supported accommodation,” he said.

“She pays a sum of $100 per week rent for a home which would in the private market command at least three times that amount.”

The tribunal was told Ms Pham had been advised and understood that her and her children would face being “removed from the home” and “indeed be homeless” if she allowed the property to remain disgustingly filthy.

“Faced with such a prospect, the respondent Ms Pham, has failed to do what all parents would do in the circumstances to simply clean up,” Mr LeMass said.

“(The housing officer) remarks that at the time of his visits (Ms Pham’s) children are always home, whether or not it is a school day, and that there are a number of complaints from the neighbours with respect to the aggressiveness of (Ms Pham) and the children.

“I accept as a matter of fact that the tenant here (Ms Pham) is in breach of her lease and that the Department has given satisfactory notices and served those notices (on Ms Pham).

“It is apparent … that the tenant (Ms Pham) lacks the necessary insight into her personal and residential circumstances.”

Mr LeMass said the Department was seeking an order for termination of Ms Pham’s tenancy and a warrant to evict her.

However, he ordered Ms Pham be given five weeks to comply with his order to “thoroughly and professionally” clean both inside and outside of the premises or face her lease being terminated.

A date to assess whether Ms Pham had complied with the order has yet to be listed.

Ex PM Berlusconi releases ‘True Love’ album – Viagra required-Available at a $2.00 shop near you!

Italy’s former prime minister and cruise-ship would be crooner Silvio Berlusconi has released an album of love songs on his last day in office.

The self-declared Latin lover, who often boasted that he single-handedly kept large groups entertained for hours on end with his charm and silky voice, wrote the lyrics for the album entitled True Love.

His singer friend Mariano Apicella performs the sensual Neapolitan songs, which tell of tormented love, featuring lyrics such as “another dayof wind and rain, another night without you” and “Stay, and leave me your heart”.

Berlusconi, now 75, has written other albums with Apicella, though this is the first that includes Samba tracks.

“I run my hands down your side, because it’s you. I adore you and I already miss you,” says another lyric.

The irrepressible crooner, who still performs for friends at intimate dinner parties, also could not resist having the last word at a ceremony to mark the handover of power to Italy’s new prime minister Mario Monti.

As he handed Monti a bell rung at cabinet meetings, Berlusconi flashed his trademark smile and quipped: “I used to ring it when I was an altar boy.”

The scandal-plagued ex-prime minister, who is on trial for buying sex from a 17-year old girl at one of his dinner parties, has spent his last days in power packing up gifts – a sword from Kazakhstan and a vase from China.

A report in La Repubblica newspaper said the larger-than-life billionaire, who has been in power for 10 of the past 17 years, had chosen the two objects as having particular sentimental value out of hundreds of gifts received.

When receiving the vase he shocked diplomats by pretending to drop it and then quipped, “I like the flowers on it, but next time bring one with pictures of the Kama Sutra” – an erotic art that has nothing to do with China.

The report said he was also packing away three framed photos of himself with former US president George W Bush, Pope Benedict XVI and the late Pope John Paul II, as well as returning priceless artwork borrowed from museums.

Berlusconi was mocked last year when he ordered art restorers to attach a new penis to a 2nd-century marble statue of the Roman god of war Mars on loan from a museum that was exhibited in his official palace in Palazzo Chigi.

His architect fended off the controversy saying the penis was “removable”.

Berlusconi’s personal cook and butler are also leaving along with spokesman Paolo Bonaiuti and loyal secretary Marinella Brambilla, as the altogether more sober Monti takes over the reins of power, the report said.

“The most delicate clear-up operation – the deleting of all traces on PCs, the copying of data and documents, was completed with dozens of memory cards on Saturday night by cabinet staff” in “a very rapid blitz”, it added.

Berlusconi submitted his resignation on Saturday as the nation grappled with a major debt crisis, to scenes of jubilation among thousands of people in the streets of Rome.

More Internet intrigue in China – Weirdness coming from censorship

Ok, I started to say, yet more Internet weirdness in China, because sometimes it really does feel a bit like taking a trip down the rabbit hole. Forbes has an interesting column on what may be another thrust (or parry, who can keep up?) in efforts to target Virtual Private Network subscriptions that create virtual tunnels around China’s online censors:

“In recent months, administrators of services with encrypted connections designed to allow users secure remote access say they’ve seen strange activity coming from China: When a user from within the country attempts to reach a server abroad, a string of seemingly random data hits the destination computer before he or she can connect, sometimes followed by that user’s communication being mysteriously dropped.

China’s internet service providers may be testing a new system that, rather than merely block IP addresses or certain Web pages, attempts to identify censorship circumvention tools by preceding a user’s connection to an encrypted service with a probe designed to reveal something about what sort of service the user is accessing.”

(The full story can be found by clicking here.)

It all sounds a bit obscure. But bear in mind that China is not only home to one of the world’s most sophisticated web censorship regimes, it is also the largest Internet market in the world. (More than 500 million users as of September, according to a report carried by the state Xinhua newswire.)

’Rare earth’ mining can hurt the environment

So, you bought a Prius or know someone who has. Beautiful. But look under the hood and you’ll find some neodymium, one of the “rare earth” minerals that help run all kinds of green technology—and other high-tech stuff like smartphones and flat-screen TVs. So far so good, but rare-earth mining can be environmentally destructive, reportedly causing cancer and leaking radioactive waste in some cases. What’s more, the rare-earth mining business is booming.

With China cutting its rare-earth exports, more mines are set to open in the US—including the world’s biggest, in California’s Mojave Desert. But producing 40,000 tons of the stuff every year means there will be waste, and the owner, Molycorp, has raised concerns with its history of spills. So what to do, if you’re green-conscious? Pressure companies to stay clean, experts say. “We need this stuff,” says a mining consultant. “It’s just a matter of figuring out how to do it right, and unfortunately, the mining industry doesn’t have a strong history of doing this

The Secret Veto Power of Prince Charles

Britain's Prince Charles, left, President, Business in the Community, at the opening of a new Start-Up Shop in The Mall in Middlesbrough, England, Monday, Oct. 24, 2011.

Although many think of the British royal family more as figureheads than active participants in governance, government ministers have in fact had to get Prince Charles’ permission to pass at least a dozen bills since 2005.

The revelation stems from an investigation into what it calls a “secretive constitutional loophole”: Charles is apparently granted the right to veto any bills that could affect his personal interests, particularly the $1.2 billion Duchy of Cornwall, which he controls.

In the past six years, six departments have sought his consent on bills related to the London Olympics, gambling, shipwrecks, and road safety.

The Duke of Cornwall and the queen are the only two British royals who possess veto power over legislation related to their interests.  A spokesman for Prince Charles refused to comment on whether the prince had ever withheld his consent or what sort of changes he had required to legislation. Parliamentarians are upset. “Anyone who enjoys exceptional influence or veto should exercise it with complete transparency,” said a Liberal Democrat MP. “The duchy asserts that it is merely a private estate. Most people will be astonished to learn that it appears to have effective powers of veto over the government.”

Yes,wind farms are useless, says Prince Philip

QUEEN Elizabeth II’s husband Prince Philip has given a typically forthright verdict on wind farms, describing them as “absolutely useless”.

The Duke of Edinburgh is well known for his sometimes contrary or inappropriate views, but his stance on the value of the turbines put him directly at odds with the UK Government, which has plans to more than double their number as it seeks to diversify energy supply.

The local London) Newspaper  described a meeting at a reception in London between Prince Philip and Esbjorn Wilmar, whose company Infinergy builds and operates turbines.

“He said they were absolutely useless, completely reliant on subsidies and an absolute disgrace,” Mr Wilmar said.

“I was surprised by his very frank views.”

Prince Philip made it clear he was not about to be won over, asking Mr Wilmar if he believed in fairy tales and warning him to “stay away from my estate, young man”, when he suggested putting a few turbines on the prince’s land.

China Shows It’s Bright Light of Contempt & Arrogance To The World Again-Incl Breaking Pledges

Foreign correspondents, China and “all conveniences”

The Foreign Correspondents’ Club of China sent an e-mail yesterday concerning a survey of its membership about the visa process here. The results of that effort, and some additional research by the Club, are worth noting:

“Over the past two years 27 foreign journalists have been made to wait more than four months for approval of their applications for visas to be resident correspondents in China. 13 of them have been waiting more than six months and are still waiting. Three requests presented in 2009 have not received a response, which in practice means they have been denied.

A further 28 permanent postings or reporting trips have been cancelled since 2009 because applications for the required journalistic visas were rejected or ignored by the Chinese authorities, the survey found.

In six cases, foreign reporters say they were told by Foreign Ministry officials that their bureaux’ visa applications had been rejected or put on hold due to the content of the bureaux’ or the applicant’s previous coverage of Chinese affairs.

Such threats and unreasonable delays in issuing journalist visas are inconsistent both with the Chinese authorities’ repeated pledges to offer ‘all conveniences’ to foreign correspondents and with international practice.”

Double-nosed dog not to be sniffed at;Drug Enforcement Authorities around the world in bidding war

Explorer Colonel John Blashford-Snell has had close encounters with vampire bats and angry bees, but his latest brush has been with a rather odd dog.

He spotted a rare breed of Double-Nosed Andean tiger hound, which has two noses, on a recent trip to Bolivia.

The chairman of the Scientific Exploration Society said the dog, named Xingu, was “not terribly handsome”.

He said: “This breed could be used for sniffing out mines or narcotics because they have an enhanced sense of smell.”

Colonel Blashford-Snell first encountered a Double-Nosed Andean tiger hound called Bella in 2005 when he was carrying out reconnaissance for this year’s expedition in the area near Ojaki.

He told Radio 4′s Today programme: “While we were there, sitting by the fire one night, I saw an extraordinary-looking dog that appeared to have two noses.

“I was sober at the time, and then I remembered the story that the legendary explorer Colonel Percy Fawcett came back with in 1913 of seeing such strange dogs in the Amazon jungle.

“Nobody believed him, they laughed him out of court.”

He’s very intelligent and with a wonderful sense of smell, as you might think
John Blashford-Snell

The dog seen two years ago was Bella, and on a second trip to the area, which began in May and has just ended, the explorer discovered her son Xingu in the village of Ojaki.

He had just produced a litter of puppies with a bitch that had a single nose.

Two of their offspring had double noses, and two had the normal quantity, but the double-nosed pups died after three days.

A veterinary expert with the group examined Xingu to see if he had a cleft palate, but this was not the case.

“There is a chance that these dogs came from a breed with double noses that’s known in Spain as Pachon Navarro, which were hunting dogs at the time of the Conquistadors,” said Colonel Blashford-Snell.

“I think it’s highly likely some of these were taken to South America and they continued to breed. They’re good hunting dogs.”

Bella the double-nosed Andean Tiger Hound

Bella is Xingu’s mother and was spotted on an expedition in 2005

He added that Xingu was “quite an aggressive little chap” who stood about 16 inches in height and loved salt biscuits but “wasn’t a terribly handsome dog”.

Xingu’s best friend is apparently a wild pig called Gregory, and the two animals “rule the roost” in their village.

“Other dogs snarl at Xingu, because they can sense he’s different. He’s the smallest dog there but he sees the other dogs off,” Colonel Blashford-Snell said.

“He’s very intelligent and with a wonderful sense of smell, as you might think.

“The Bolivian Army came and took DNA samples because they’re interested in the breed. He’s not the only dog like this, there are others in the area.”

The Scientific Exploration Society was in Bolivia to investigate a shallow crater about five miles in width.

According to Colonel Blashford-Snell, he has now found evidence that this was caused by a giant meteorite, which struck the Bolivian Amazon Basin up to 30,000 years ago.

He says he has found evidence of human habitation within 50 miles of the blast zone, and believes these people were wiped out as a result of the meteor’s impact.

The explorers also carried with them a church organ from Dorset as a gift to local Bolivians in order to secure their help with finding the meteorite

Notebooks made for foreign suspects prevent law enforcement authorities from conducting illegal interrogations or forging confessions.

The Japan Federation of Bar Associations said Wednesday it has produced notebooks in other languages for foreign suspects to use during police questioning, part of efforts to prevent law enforcement authorities from conducting illegal interrogations or forging confessions.

The “Suspect’s Notes” are available in English, Chinese and Korean, and will be distributed to regional bar associations to help foreigners. They can also be downloaded from the federation’s website.

The notebooks have been designed for suspects to record details of their interrogations, including whether they understand interpretations or if interrogators accept requests for corrections to written statements, as well as any other matters that arise. One notebook covers up to 20 days of interrogations.

The Osaka Bar Association in 2003 introduced a notebook in Japanese in an effort to make interrogations more transparent, and the federation decided in 2004 to introduce the notebooks nationwide.

In a 2007 case, the Osaka District Court ruled that a suspect’s notes detailing police assaults were partially credible, while in 2009, the Kyoto District Court ruled that a suspect’s interrogation was illegal based on the suspect’s notes.

“The notes (in foreign languages) are to help achieve full transparency in interrogations,” a federation official said. “We will make further improvements, including making the notes available in other languages.”

The notebook can be downloaded at www.nichibenren.or.jp/library/ja/legal_aid/on-duty_lawyer/data/higisha_note_e.pdf

Man gives dog kiss of life

An Auckland man proved himself the ultimate dog lover by saving his tiny chihuahua’s life with mouth-to-mouth resuscitation during a canine seizure.

The 42-year-old didn’t want to be named but said there was no embarrassment about locking lips with his beloved one-year-old dog Peanut after it started convulsing.

“What do you do? It’s in your arms and you know it’s dying – it’s just instinct,” he told The New Zealand Herald.

He said Peanut had been prone to seizures ever since he was dropped on his head as a young puppy.

While at a mate’s house last Friday, the dog went to urinate on the dining room table and got a light smack on the head from the friend, sending him into seizure.

The owner scooped up his miniature pet, whose heart had stopped beating, and started blowing air into his mouth from a centimetre away.

“I thought to myself, ‘What are you f***ing doing, mate? That’s not going to do anything.

“So then it was just ‘boom’ – I put my lips straight on, but I had to be careful not to blow his little insides out.”

After pulling the dog’s tongue out and tilting his head back, Peanut finally started coming back to life, said the man, recalling that “incredible” moment.

Peanut spent a night at the vet but was back to his “crazy” old self by Sunday, his owner said.

Scam artists used milk to ‘fix’ driveway

A GANG that scammed money out of elderly people across the UK by using milk to “seal” their driveways has been jailed after filming themselves bragging about the con.

Brian Tomney, 29, from Salford, northern England, and three other members of his family were caught after boasting on camera about how they had charged a 78-year-old man £800 ($US1280) for sealing his driveway.

In fact, the chemical the gang said it had used was nothing more than milk diluted with some water.

“Eight hundred pounds for that bottle of milk,” one of the con artists can be heard saying as they filled an industrial size container with a “special sealant” of milk and water used on the drive in Stockport, northern England.

Retired accountant and grandfather-of-four Brian Smith, now 80, said, “After I was told that the liquid was water and milk I felt like a fool for being taken in by it”.

Tomney was jailed for 15 months at Preston Crown Court after admitting conspiracy to commit fraud and tax evasion totaling £120,000. He is already serving a jail term for conning an 88-year-old woman who had Alzheimer’s into selling him her £70,000 home for £17,000.

Tomney’s uncle, Francis Tomney Snr, 55, was jailed for five and a half years while his 21-year-old sons, Francis Tomney Jnr and Thomas Tomney, were imprisoned for five years and four and a half years, respectively.

Another set of hapless criminals from northern England was behind bars today after posting images on Facebook that showed them posing with luxury cars they had stolen.

Damon Keegan, 20, and Aaron Wilhelm, 18, committed burglaries and car thefts totaling £200,000, but were caught after Wilhelm changed his Facebook profile picture to an image of himself posing in front of a victim’s stolen car.

Truth comes out: 2009 H1N1 flu pandemic ‘deaths’ of children were actually caused by MRSA

(NaturalNews) Remember two years ago when every news show featured hysterical reports about the so-called H1N1 pandemic and how the supposed killer flu was striking down healthy kids? True, many previously healthy children became critically ill, developing severe pneumonia and respiratory failure. And some tragically died after being diagnosed with H1N1. But was that really the accurate explanation of what caused their death?

According to the largest nationwide investigation to date of the flu in children who became critically ill, scientists from Children’s Hospital Boston have found another reason to explain the severity of the youngsters illness. It turns out that it most likely wasn’t H1N1 alone that caused healthy children to become so ill many died.

Instead, these kids were unknowingly infected with something else. That additional infection, the superbug known as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), spiked the risk for flu-related deaths 8-fold in children who were otherwise believed to be totally healthy before they became ill.

Almost all of these children who were found to be infected with the superbug were immediately treated with vancomycin, considered to be best treatment for MRSA. Yet they died despite being administered this powerful antibiotic and their deaths were blamed on the flu. But the new research suggests it was the MRSA that played a huge role in killing these children.

“There’s more risk for MRSA to become invasive in the presence of flu or other viruses,” study leader Adrienne Randolph, MD, MsC, of the Division of Critical Care Medicine at Children’s Hospital Boston. Said in a statement to the media. “These deaths in co-infected children are a warning sign.” He added this is especially alarming given the rising rates of MRSA infections being carried widely among children.

“It is not common in the U.S. to lose a previously healthy child to pneumonia,” Randolph said. “Unfortunately, these children had necrotizing pneumonia eating away at their tissue and killing off whole areas of the lung. They looked like immunocompromised patients in the way MRSA went through their body. It’s not that flu alone can’t kill – it can – but in most cases children with flu alone survived.”

MRSA risk continues to spread

Sixty percent of the youngsters investigated for the new study already had sometimes serious health problems before contracting the flu. But of the 251 children (30 percent) previously healthy children included in the research, the only risk factor that was identified which likely contributed to their increased risk of dying was a diagnosis of a MRSA infection in the lung. The researchers expressed surprise that the antibiotic used to treat the MRSA-infected children didn’t work and suggested the drug couldn’t penetrate the lungs or the disease moved too rapidly.

Recent studies have shown a worrisome rise in the number of youngsters who are carriers of MRSA. A 2010 study published in Pediatrics found that the number of children hospitalized for MRSA infections increased from 2 in 1,000 admissions in 1999 to 21 in 1,000 admissions by 2008. The cause appears to be the never-ending and growing use of antibiotics in people and animals. “The more antibiotics we take, the more we colonize ourselves with antibiotic-resistant organisms such as MRSA,” Randolph noted.

Curiously, the researchers are not emphasizing going after the cause and spread of MRSA infections as much as they are using their findings to push for flu shots. Their study, just published in the journal Pediatrics, promotes flu vaccination among all children aged 6 months and older.

Processed meats-ARE YOU AWARE OF ALL THE DANGERS ?

Hot DogsThe World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) has just completed a detailed review of more than 7,000 clinical studies covering links between diet and cancer. Its conclusion is rocking the health world with startling bluntness: Processed meats are too dangerous for human consumption. Consumers should stop buying and eating all processed meat products for the rest of their lives.

Processed meats include bacon, sausage, hot dogs, sandwich meat, packaged ham, pepperoni, salami and virtually all red meat used in frozen prepared meals. They are usually manufactured with a carcinogenic ingredient known as sodium nitrite. This is used as a color fixer by meat companies to turn packaged meats a bright red color so they look fresh. Unfortunately, sodium nitrite also results in the formation of cancer-causing nitrosamines in the human body. And this leads to a sharp increase in cancer risk for those who eat them.

A 2005 University of Hawaii study found that processed meats increase the risk of pancreatic cancer by 67 percent. Another study revealed that every 50 grams of processed meat consumed daily increases the risk of colorectal cancer by 50 percent. These are alarming numbers. Note that these cancer risks do not come from eating fresh, non-processed meats. They only appear in people who regularly consume processed meat products containing sodium nitrite.

Sodium nitrite appears predominantly in red meat products (you won’t find it in chicken or fish products). Here’s a short list of food items to check carefully for sodium nitrite and monosodium glutamate (MSG), another dangerous additive:

  • Beef jerky
  • Bacon
  • Sausage
  • Hot dogs
  • Sandwich meat
  • Frozen pizza with meat
  • Canned soups with meat
  • Frozen meals with meat
  • Ravioli and meat pasta foods
  • Kid’s meals containing red meat
  • Sandwich meat used at popular restaurants
  • Nearly all red meats sold at public schools, restaurants, hospitals, hotels and theme parks

If sodium nitrite is so dangerous to humans, why do the FDA and USDA continue to allow this cancer-causing chemical to be used? The answer, of course, is that food industry interests now dominate the actions by U.S. government regulators. The USDA, for example, tried to ban sodium nitrite in the late 1970′s but was overridden by the meat industry. It insisted the chemical was safe and accused the USDA of trying to “ban bacon.” Today, the corporations that dominate American food and agricultural interests hold tremendous influence over the FDA and USDA. Consumers are offered no real protection from dangerous chemicals intentionally added to foods, medicines and personal care products.

You can protect yourself and your family from the dangers of processed meats by following a few simple rules:

  • Always read ingredient labels.
  • Don’t buy anything made with sodium nitrite or monosodium glutamate.
  • Don’t eat red meats served by restaurants, schools, hospitals, hotels or other institutions.
  • You are saving a lot of money and stay alive a lot longer

And finally, eat more fresh produce with every meal. There is evidence that natural vitamin C found in citrus fruits and exotic berries (like camu camu) helps prevent the formation of cancer-causing nitrosamines, protecting you from the devastating health effects.

Prostitutes in German city get “tax meters”

A prostitute walks on the street at Oranienburgen Strasse in Berlin’s central district Mitte September 14, 2010.

BERLIN (Reuters) – Prostitutes in the German city of Bonn must carry a ticket purchased from a new parking meter-like machine while working the streets or face hefty fines from tax authorities in a scheme launched Monday night.

In Germany, ladies of the night pay income tax — the level of which varies from region to region — but compliance is difficult to enforce with women seeking business on the street.

Germany’s first “sex tax meters,” from which prostitutes can purchase a ticket for 6 euros ($8.72) per night, will ensure the tax system is fairly implemented, a city spokeswoman said.

“Inspectors will monitor compliance — not every evening but frequently,” the spokeswoman told Reuters.

If caught without a valid ticket, offenders will first be reprimanded, then face fines and later even a ban.

About 200 prostitutes work in Bonn. Due to protests from residents, city officials have limited the areas of operation to specific quarters.

But critics say this has made it easier for prostitutes to ply their trade. The city has erected what officials call “consummation areas,” wooden parking garages where customers driving cars can retreat to with prostitutes. ($1 = 0.688 Euros)

Tragic Death of Tawu Nun after Self-Immolation

Today, at around 12.40 pm, a nun in Tawu County, Kardze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (TAP), set herself afire in protest against the Chinese government amid the continued repression of religious freedom and human rights in Tibet.

Palden Choesang, 35 years old, shouted slogans such as “Freedom in Tibet,” “Long live H.H the Dalai Lama,” and “Let the Dalai Lama return to Tibet” before she self-immolated near Namgyal Stupa, a huge stupa in Tawu County.

Latest reports state that nun Choesang died from severe burn injuries. Her body is being kept at Tawu Nyatso Monastery at this moment.

Choesang was born in Drogcho Village, Geshe Township of Tawu County, Kardze TAP. She was a nun at Dakar Choeling Nunnery in Tawu County.

Today was the last day of a ‘Nyung-ney’ practice, a religious fast by monks of Tawu Nyatso monastery and local Tibetans that was held in the premises of the Namgyal stupa. According to sources, nun Choesang self-immolated at a road nearby the Namgyal stupa.

Shortly after nun Choesang’s self-immolation, many police arrived, placing heavy restrictions on the area around Nyatso monastery.

The G20 – the most powerful summit of world gov’s meets tomorrow to discuss the global economic crisis, and Banks and corporations are sponsoring the meeting? !

Dear friends,

In 24 hours, the G20 summit of world governments meets to discuss the global economic crisis, but banks and big corporations are sponsoring the meeting in exchange for an all access pass! This, while ordinary citizens are locked out. Let’s raise a massive petition to summit President Nicolas Sarkozy to kick out the corporate sponsors and clean up the G20:

It’s unbelievable. The G20 — the most powerful summit of world governments — meets tomorrow to discuss the global economic crisis, and who is sponsoring the meeting? Banks and corporations!

No wonder the site of the meeting — the French city of Cannes — is completely locked down to any ordinary citizens, while banks and large corporate CEOs have all access passes to tell our governments what to do.

Corporations and banks have captured our governments, winning vast bailouts after helping to create the crisis. Now they are buying their way into the very meeting that could decide the world’s financial future. Together we can persuade summit President Nicolas Sarkozy to cancel the sponsorship — let’s build a massive public outcry that causes a media firestorm and forces Sarkozy to kick out the corporate sponsors and clean up the G20.

Sign the petition and forward widely:

The line between corporate power and responsible government has steadily blurred, undermining our democracies and our economy. Politicians take money from corporations for their campaigns, make policies that reward them when in office, and then take high-paid jobs with them after they leave. It’s corruption, plain and simple.

Now Société Générale, a French bank that received a public bailout and has a vested interest in Europe’s financial policy, is an official sponsor of the summit. Insiders have told Avaaz that this bank and 20 other corporations have paid large sums of money in sponsorship for a seat at the table of our governments.

The only way to get policies that protect jobs, tackle speculators and guarantee a fair future for us all is to kick back against the lobbies and prise our leaders away from corporate interests. Let’s tell Nicolas Sarkozy and the other leaders that their future depends on ditching the sponsors now and agreeing to no more corporate capture of our governments. Sign the petition and send to everyone:

The global economic crisis resulted in large part from reckless banks that were no longer regulated effectively by governments because of the control banks exert over our leaders. This corporate capture of government is the major threat today, both to democracy, and to an efficient and fair economy. Across the world, people are taking to the streets to take back our democracies. In the next 24 hours, let’s start with the G20.

With hope and determination,

Alex, Maria Paz, Emma, Ricken, Morgan, Wissam and the rest of the Avaaz team

Air Car to hit Indian streets by August 2012 -Will it be the next big thing around the world?

What is this?
Will it be the next big thing?
Tata Motors of India thinks so.
What will the Oil Companies do to stop it?

It is an auto engine that runs on air.  That’s right; air not gas or diesel or electric but just the air around us.  Take a look.

Tata Motors of India has scheduled the Air Car to hit Indian streets by August 2012

The Air Car, developed by ex-Formula One engineer Guy N. For Luxembourg-based MDI, uses compressed air to push its engine’s pistons and make the car go.

The Air Car, called the “Mini CAT” could cost around 365,757 rupees in India or $8,177 US.

The Mini CAT which is a simple, light urban car, with a tubular chassis, a body of fiberglass that is glued not welded and powered by compressed air.  A Microprocessor is used to control all electrical functions of the car.  One tiny radio transmitter sends instructions to the lights, turn signals and every other electrical device on the car.  Which are not many.

The temperature of the clean air expelled by the exhaust pipe is between 0-15 degrees below zero, which makes it suitable for use by the internal air conditioning system with no need for gases or loss of power.

There are no keys, just an access card which can be read by the car from your pocket.  According to the designers, it costs less than 50 rupees per 100 KM, that’s about a tenth the cost of a car running on gas.  It’s mileage is about double that of the most advanced electric car, a factor which makes it a perfect choice for city motorists.  The car has a top speed of 105 KM per hour or 60 mph and would have a range of around 300 km or 185 miles between refuels.  Refilling the car will take place at adapted gas stations with special air compressors.  A fill up will only take two to three minutes and costs approximately 100 rupees and the car will be ready to go another 300 kilometers.

This car can also be filled at home with it’s on board compressor.  It will take 3-4 hours to refill the tank, but it can be done while you sleep.

Because there is no combustion engine, changing the 1 liter of vegetable oil is only necessary every 50,000 KM or 30,000 miles.  Due to its simplicity, there is very little maintenance to be done on this car.

This Air Car almost sounds too good to be true.  We’ll see in August. 2012
